Obituary of Robert Surgeon

DOB 07/01/1934 DOD 09/09/2024 Written and provided by the family. Robert K Surgeon went to be with his Lord on Sept 9, 2024 in Lynnwood, WA. Robert was born in Miles City, Montana on July 1, 1934 to L.W. & Ruth Surgeon. He lived in Montana, and Willamina, Oregon as a young person. Bob entered the Marine Corp after high school and was stationed in Japan for a few years. Bob met Jeanette Drummins on a blind date through friends. They married on December 20, 1957, in Yakima, WA where they lived for a few years. Bob and Jeanette moved to Othello in the early 60s and remained there until relocating closer to their daughters in 2023. Bob worked at Othello Post Office for many years before retiring and very much enjoyed working there. He worked part time at Walmart in Othello for a few years then fully retired. Bob enjoyed crossword puzzles, telling jokes, and his church, Othello Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed travel and visited Croatia with brother in law Clayton Drummins, London with his grandsons, Alaska, Hawaii and many other states. Bob & Jeanette enjoyed travels with Howard & Verna (his sister) over the years, especially enjoying the Oregon coast. He loved life and loved his family and visiting with family members. Bob and Jeanette could be found at Shari’s in Moses Lake at least once a week and driving by Mar Don resort often. Bob is survived by Jeanette now in Lynnwood, WA, their daughter Cammie (Phil) Sawyer in Lynnwood, and grandsons Chris Stolz (Seattle) and Patrick (Lauren) Stolz, in Alexandria, VA. Bob & Jeanette’s daughter Patricia Kinder (Brad) live in Monroe, WA. Bob’s older sister Verna lives in Sultan, WA and he has various nephews and nieces in Washington, Oregon and California. We will miss Bob and are comforted he is in Heaven now, able to work on those crossword puzzles now.
