Obituary of Gilbert Salas, Sr.

Gilbert Salas, Sr. passed away peacefully at home on June 13, 2023, after a battle with cancer. He was born to Irene Sifuentes Salas and Serveriano Salas on August 4, 1960, in Edinburgh, Texas. Gilbert had numerous brothers and sisters. Gilbert went to Othello High School where he grew up for most of his schooling years. He had many different farmers he drove trucks for, hauling many different things during his lifetime. Gilbert was also a self-taught mechanic. On July 5, 1980, he married Judy Morris at his father’s home in Othello, Washington. Gilbert and Judy had three sons: Gilbert Salas, Jr., Jeramy Salas, and Michael Salas. Judy passed away in 2009. Gilbert remarried and had twin boys, Gabriel and Isiah Salas. Gilbert and the twins moved to Montana in 2018 and followed shortly after by Jeramy and Michael. Gilbert loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing and enjoyed his horses. Family was very important to him. He loved his children and grandchildren. Gilbert survived his children, Gilbert (Tanya) Salas, Jr., Southern California, Jeramy Salas, Michael Salas and Gabriel and Isiah Salas, of Montana, and numerous siblings and five grandchildren. Gilbert was preceded in death by parents, Irene Sifuentes Salas and Serveriano Salas, wife Judy Salas, and three siblings, a sister and two brothers.
