Obituary of Darline Nield
Darline Passey Nield, 92 of Othello Washington, passed away peacefully at her home on July 7, 2022.
She was born in Rigby, Idaho on March 3, 1930, the daughter of Lowell George Passey and Helen Lee Passey. She was raised in Lincoln, Idaho and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. On May 21, 1948, she married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Delbert Nield in the Idaho Falls Temple. He preceded her in death in 2021 after 73 years together. Darline and Delbert lived in Ammon, Idaho; Victor, Montana; and, made their home in Othello, Washington where they raised their eight (8) children.
She spent many years as a homemaker while raising their 8 children. Darline began to work outside the home at Chef Ready in Othello, Washington where she enjoyed weighing potato trucks and visiting with people. She always felt the most important job she had in her life was raising her family. She truly loved to watch her children and grandchildren succeed.
She was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and of our Savior. She loved serving faithfully in all different capacities. She enjoyed attending the temple and was involved in indexing and family history with her husband.
She enjoyed road trips and watching old movies with her husband, cooking, canning, holding babies, her grandchildren and her family. She loved being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was so proud of her posterity and loved watching it continually grow.
Darline is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Reid) Haroldsen of Pasco, Washington, Torrie Ramon of Othello Washington, Kim Wall of Othello Washington; sons, Anthony Nield of Ceres, California, Roger (Janeal) Nield of Lewisville Idaho; daughters-in-law, Diana (Keary) Nield of Pleasant Grover, Utah, Lisa (Allen) Nield of Wenatchee, Washington; 36 grandchildren, 81 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Karen Page of Strasburg, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, four (4) siblings Lola Barnes, Patsy Ann Passey, Larry Passey and Keith Passey; children, Keary Nield, Allen Nield, Connie (Abby) Rodriguez; son-in-law, Ken Wall; grandson, Josh Ramon and great-grandson, Lincoln Rodriguez.
