Obituary of Ruth L Hilmes
Ruth L Hilmes passed away on June 5, 2022 at the age of 88, she was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on February 11 1934.
She spent her youth in Klamath Falls until her parents moved the family to Kelso, Washington. There she graduated and went on to beauty school with her sister. She married John Lebacken and the family moved and established Lebacken Electric in Othello in 1953. They divorced in 1980.
Ruth remarried in 1983 to Herb Hilmes and spent many years traveling and enjoying life together. Ruth is survived in life by her children Sandra Lebacken and Gary (Tiffany) Lebacken of Othello. Grandchildren Amanda (Robert) Langstaff of Kittitas, Derek (Kass) Lebacken of George and Michael (Hannah) Lebacken of George Washington. Great Grandchildren Lariah, Liam, Paislee, Easton and Karson. Sisters Dee Maki, Lee Ruth and Brother Rich McCool all of the Longview-Kelso Washington area, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by husband Herb, parents Comel and Eva McCool, one brother and sisters Sarah, Eleanor and Bonnie.
A celebration of life will happen on June 11th at 2pm at the Othello Nazarene Church. In lieu of flowers Ruth had a wish to place a headstone on her Sister Sarah’s grave, donations towards the stone can be made to family members or at the Celebration.
