Paula Ramos

Obituary of Paula C. Ramos

Paula C. Ramos (Grandma) left this earth to go dance in the sky on January 2nd, 2022. Having been born on June 18th, 1935, she lived a long and beautiful life wherein she moved from her hometown of Hidalgo, TX to Othello, WA, raised a family, and worked hard. Paula always chose work that made use of the abundance of love and care in her heart. That love and care was present in everything she did through her dying day when she passed at home, surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Grandma was ten pounds of dynamite in a five-pound bag. She was the life of the party, often dancing to any kind of music. She loved being outdoors, making her yard look amazing, playing baseball with her grandkids and great-grandkids, feeding everyone her famous beans and tortillas, and rolling through Othello in her red, rainbow-striped truck that she referred to as her baby. Grandma was a devout Catholic, often going to retreats nearby. She never met a stranger, was referred to as “Grandma” by most, and was present for so many people in their times of need—even holding their hands as they drew their last breath. It’s fitting then that Grandma’s final days were spent at home being cared for by her daughter Sylvia, son in law Albert , neighbor Nora Ramos granddaughter Erika, great-granddaughters Hayley and Alibama, and great-grandsons Hunter, Cooper, and Greyson. Grandma is survived by a large, loving family, including two more children, Beatrice (John) Guel and Rolando (Donna) Ramos, seven grandchildren including Heather, Michael, Ramon, Erika, Sean, Kristine, and Anthony, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was blessed to welcome her very first great-great-grandchild, Leo, into the world before passing. We will truly and deeply miss her feisty spirit, but we rest easy knowing that she’s going to see the love of her life, Joe, and so many of her friends who passed before her. Heaven will be rowdier now that she’s arrived! We love you, Grandma! Do a cumbia for us. Dios te bendiga, Grandma.
