Salvador Rocha

Obituary of Salvador Rocha

On September 18, 2021, Salvador Alvarez Rocha (age 68) of Othello, WA went to be with our Heavenly Father with his beautiful wife, children, and grandchildren surrounding him. Salvador was born on July 18, 1953, in Tamazula, Jalisco, Mexico. He was the second born of Guadalupe and Josefina Rocha. He had an older sister Martha and five younger siblings: Luis, Pedro, Carlos, Miguel, and Monica. In 1975, Salvador moved to Othello, WA where he started working at Chef Ready, which later became McCain Foods, and soon met his Maggie. In 1976, he married Margaret Kerr and over the course of the next several years they had nine children, four boys and five girls. After dedicating 40 years of service, Salvador retired from McCain Foods in 2015. Salvador was a very family-oriented man, who worked hard to provide everything his family needed. He was a very satisfied man and loved his queen, as he called his wife, Maggie, many times. He always made sure she had what she needed even if it meant driving long distance for the only pair of shoes that were comfortable for her to wear. The family never went hungry as Salvador made sure cupboards and the pantry were overflowing and the refrigerators/freezers were always full. He spent long hours on his job as well as working at home for he always wanted to stay busy. He became a born-again Christian at the age of 33 years. He loved to read his King James Bible and teach what he learned to his children. He would also tell others what he learned from the Bible as he shared the Gospel with them. He loved music and wrote many songs for the Lord. Salvador dedicated most of his life to his queen and children. He loved to sing, play his guitar and keyboard, and recording music with his children. Salvador loved taking his beautiful wife and the children to Westport beach every spring and summer, 2-3 times a year. He loved to travel when he could and made multiple trips around visiting places taking the whole family with him. He also loved to take his queen and children shooting and fishing. He would spend time teaching them how to build things and how to do maintenance work on vehicles. He also showed the importance of taking care of your own and not being dependent of others. Salvador was a light in this world and will truly be missed but he spoke many times about going to heaven to be with the Lord Jesus Christ forever. Although he will be very missed by everyone who knew and loved him, he is in a much sweeter place. He is exactly where he always dreamed of going, and his wife and children know they will see him again. “Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” -1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV Salvador is preceded by his parents Guadalupe and Josefina Rocha, brothers: Luis, Pedro, and Carlos. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret, his siblings: Martha, Miguel, and Monica; his children: Raquel (Daniel), Sarah (Pete), Salvador Jr. (Alyssa), Sophia (Dustin), Martha (Hugo), Esther, Matthew (Vanessa), Juanluis, and Benjamin (Yaneth); and 34 grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021, from 12:00pm–5:00 pm at Stevens Funeral Home, at 511 S. 7th Ave, Othello, WA, 99344. The funeral services will be held at Stevens Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 24th, 2021, from 1:00 pm–2:15 pm, followed with the burial at Bess Hampton Memorial Gardens. There will also be a reception gathering at the Othello Baptist Church, located at 910 E Elm St., Othello, WA following the funeral services. *Please no black attire, Salvador loved the beach and so we ask you wear appropriate beach colors or light color clothing.
