Obituary of Patsy Lee Prior
Patsy Lee Prior, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 31, 2020. She was born on February 23, 1937, in Rogers, Arkansas. In the summer of 1952, her family moved to Hansen, Idaho. After driving by her house numerous times, a local boy named Sonny Prior, stopped by to talk to her. This was the start of a romance that lasted the rest of her life.
After graduation in 1955, Patsy worked for Idaho Power in Twin Falls, Idaho for a year while waiting for Sonny to return from the Army. They were married on June 29, 1956 in Hansen. That summer, Sonny and Patsy, along with his family, moved to the Columbia Basin to develop farm ground in the Warden area. They were soon blessed with three daughters: Janet, Sheree, and Kristi. The farm is still in the family and it is where Patsy and Sonny live.
Patsy was a homemaker and worked on the farm; she spent many hours on the back of a potato digger and cutting seed potatoes. Patsy loved watching the Zags, reading, playing cards and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a member of the Warden Community Church. Mom was the perfect example of a kind, gentle, unselfish person. She always made you feel better with her sweet smile and hug.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents Lee and Lucille Gordon, and brother, Jim Gordon. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Art (Sonny); daughters, Janet Prior, Sheree Grow (Michael), Kristi Boersma (Brad); grandchildren, Alisha Grow, Marc Grow, Megan Shipley, Nikkee Hebdon, Henry Boersma, Becky Boersma and five great grandchildren.
Due to circumstances and family wishes, there will only be a private celebration of life. However, if you have a story, picture or special memory of Patsy, the family would love for you to share it with them in a card or letter. Please send to: Prior Family, 2 South Reynolds Rd, Othello, WA 99344. For an online option, go to Stevens Funeral Chapel (www.stevensfc.com).
