Obituary of Concepcion Garcia Vasquez

~~Concepcion Vasquez, 82, of Othello, Washington, passed away May 5, 2017 at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation Center in Pasco, Washington.  She was born in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico on December 8, 1934 to parents Theodore Ibarra Garcia and Victoria Cadena Rodriguez.  She was married to Frank Escobar Vasquez on February 11, 1957.  Together they raised six children, and enjoyed 53 years of marriage, until he passed away on April 13, 2010.  They moved from Pasco which they were there a couple of years, to Othello in 1969, where they would raise their family.  She liked to be called “Connie,” her primary role in the home was as a house wife, which worked out well, because her passion in life was for her family.  She had a spunky & loving attitude whose friendly but outspoken personality lit up a room.  She was a loving wife and mother, and she will be dearly missed by all.  She was survived by her children: Frank Jr (Patty) Vasquez of Othello, Washington, Vincent (Beatrice) Vasquez of North Bend, Washington, Perla (Rick) Gleed of Pasco, Washington, Yolanda Jackson of Othello, Washington, Jerri (Oscar) Casados of Othello, Washington, and Andy Vasquez (Cindy) of Othello, Washington, and siblings: Rita Fuentes of Fruitland, Idaho, Lazaro (Maria) Garcia of Eagle Pass, Texas, Luisa (Juan) Morin of San Antonio, Texas, Christina (Joseph) Alonzo of Eagle Pass, Texas, Clara Camacho of Houston, Texas, Rosalba Coss of San Antonio, Texas, Petra (Jesse) Duran of Eagle Pass, Texas, Victor (Junita) Garcia of Perry, Georgia and Marisela Lara of San Antonio, Texas.  Concepcion also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren to cherish her loving memory.  A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Stevens Funeral Chapel in Othello, Washington.  Funeral arrangements will begin at 11:00 am, Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Stevens Funeral Chapel.  To leave an online condolence to the family, please visit our website at www.stevensfc.com.
