Obituary of Elaine Melvina Hale
Elaine M. Hale, 93 of Othello, Washington, passed away December 18, 2016. She was born in Nieche, North Dakota on August 29, 1923 to parents Albert Dumas and Lorene Schwartz. Elaine was one of 13 siblings. She married Robert Gerald Hale in Seattle, Washington in 1945. Elaine worked seven years as a waitress at Long Tom’s Pub in Othello, Washington. She was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Eagles Lodge. Elaine was an independent, hard-working lady who enjoyed keeping her home tidy and clean. She was known for saying, “Everything has a place and everything in its’ place.” Cooking was another talent Elaine pursued. Her family greatly enjoyed her recipes made from scratch, especially her deep fried chicken, potato salad and pies. Elaine was survived by daughters, Vel (Kelly) Neighbors of Bellevue, Washington, Serena (Joe) Barcha of Lake Stevens, Washington, Debora Simpkins of Othello, Washington, and sons, Curtis Hale of Othello, Washington, David Hale of Moses Lake, Washington, as well as, nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, as well as, great-great grandchildren.
