Obituary of Hermila Avila Cerrillo

Hermila Avila Cerrillo, 82, of Othello Washington passed away 9/17/16 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Crystal City, Texas on 11/07/1933 to parents Jose Maria and Estefana Avila. Hermila was raised along side her 15 siblings. She married Osbaldo Cerrillo in 1953 at the Crystal City Catholic Church. They moved to Mabton, Washington with Osbaldo's family to work at the Yakima Chief Ranch, where his family had been working since 1941. In 1959 they moved to Othello to work for the Othello Packers Company. Where Osbaldo and his brother's had the hauling contract. They would live in Mabton through Winter and Spring, in Othello through Summer and Fall to work harvest. in 1967 the family decided to make Othello home and stayed. Hermila was a gifted cook, and loved to have the family over as much as possible. She shared her knowledge and talents by serving as a cook at The Othello Migrant day Care Center, she enjoyed many years there. She was a member of The Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Othello. Loved her children as well as her extended family. Always ended with a "Love you" and , "Dios Los Bendiga". She is survived by her children Osbaldo Cerrillo Jr. of Moses Lake, Washington, Sylvia ( Miguel Salazar) Cerrillo of Othello, Washington, Rolando (Faith) Cerrillo of Othello, Washington, Gerardo "Jerry"(LuAnn S. Wassink) Cerrillo, of Moses Lake, Washington, Rogelio "Roy" (Debbie) Cerrillo of Pullman, Washington, Leticia (Ricardo) Garza of Othello, Washington, and David Cerrillo of Pasco, Washington. Along with seventeen grandchildren, and thirty one great grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters Jose Maria Avila Jr. from Crystal City , Texas, Delia A (Oscar) Villastrigo from Wichita Falls, Texas, Gilda Avila from Wichita Falls, Texas, Lucinda A Serna from Crystal City, Texas, Alberto (Estella) Avila from Milwaukke, Wisconsin, Amanda Avila from Uvalde, Texas, Maria Avila, from San Antonio, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years Osbaldo Cerrillo (1980), then later her Great Grandson Dayne White.
