Obituary of Ronald William Grate

Ronald William Grate, age 78, of Othello, Washington, passed away August 7, 2016. He was born in Olympia Washington July 13, 1938. He graduated from Eureka High School in California, class of 1956. He was married to Elizabeth Carolyn Harris on Sept 26, 1959 in Reno, Nevada. Together they raised 2 children. Carolyn was the love of Ron's life. Ron worked hard his entire life. He began as a 12 year old boy, taking whatever odd job he could find, and never retired. In that time his employment history included being a California Highway Patrolman, and a self-employed farmer and a contractor. Ron was always sharing his knowledge and experiences with anyone willing to listen. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Moses Lake, Washington. He enjoyed traveling, and the outdoors, but his primary passion was for his family and his work. He was a strong willed man, and self-taught; he learned to draft the homes he would later construct. He was a kind hearted man, and a dedicated provider for the family he loved. He will be dearly missed. He was survived by his wife, Carolyn Grate of Othello, Washington, and his children, Barbie Dailey and Robert Grate of Othello, Washington. Ron also leaves 5 grandchildren behind to cherish his loving memory, Randy, Patrick, Ryan, Aaron, and Kaycie. A private family Celebration of Life is going to be held at a later date.
