Obituary of Melvin E. Martin

Melvin E. Martin, age 71, of Othello, Washington, passed away September 17, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Yakima on August 11, 1944 to parents, Reuben and Lydia (Klein) Martin. Melvin grew up and attended school in Wapato, graduating class of 1962, Go Wolves! He enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving overseas in Germany, from 1964 to 1967. He was married to Virginia Sealock in 1970 in Toppenish. Together they raised 3 daughters. Melvin was a mint farmer and he started his career working for his cousin, Jim Frank and continued working for the Warden Hutterian Brethrens. He enjoyed the outdoors; fishing, boating, and barbequing. He liked to travel but most of all, he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He had a loving family and he supported his children and grandchildren as often as he could. He loved attending all the family sporting events. His presence will be dearly missed by so many people. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Martin of Othello; his children, Nicole (Kiley) Conaway of Ellensburg, Jill (Mando) Acosta of Othello, and Sally (Chris) Vietzke of Ellensburg; his 9 grandchildren who will cherish his loving memory, Kelcy-23, Hailey-22, Macie-18, Travis-14, Blake-14, Sydnee-14, Spencer-14, Fletcher-12 and Emma-10. Melvin also leaves two sisters, Joyce (Chip) Clark of Toppenish and Nancy (Mike) Emmerson of Kennewick, and his mother-in-law Maribelle Sealock of Toppenish. He is proceeded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Trenton Sealock and brother-in-law Kevin Sealock. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, September 26, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church in Othello, Washington (715 E. Scootney St). A lunch will follow at the Othello Eagles (127 E.
